Encore Tours

Overview:

More than just a stick with a handle, a baton is a conductor's instrument. In this week's edition of Encore Live we will speak with Phil Aguglia, a renowned band teacher and owner of PaGu Batons -- the leader in custom, handmade conducting batons.

Alongside host Jon Linker, we will examine the evolution of batons, learn more about Phil's quest for perfection, and take a look inside his workshop for a special behind-the-scenes preview. Learn all about the most important factors to consider when selecting a baton, and why it's crucial to have the proper fit.

Aguglia, who has found international acclaim for his baton making, will also share some of his favorite stories including the creation of personalized batons for prestigious conductors and his unique baton design for the 2020 Academy Award ceremonies. There will be plenty of opportunity for any questions you may have, so we hope to see you there!
